Pedro II, also known as the Imperial City, is a Piauí treasure located in Serra dos Matões and has a wide range of options for tourists. Historic center
The city center has centuries-old properties with Portuguese inspiration and also mansions that recall the economic heyday of the first half of the 20th century. Crafts
Cotton thread crafts have been a tradition in Pedro II since at least the 19th century. According to oral history, it all started with the three sisters Severa, Honorina and Mariana who introduced grid looms to the locality and then disseminated the techniques for making nets, the best-known product. Nowadays, quilts, bags, placemats, among other objects are also produced.

Opal Route
It is also possible to make a route that covers the entire opal production chain, from its mines, the best known of which is Boi Morto, one of the largest in the world in the open pit, to the cutting and goldsmithing workshops.

Archaeological sites
Pedro II has more than 200 panels from cataloged archaeological sites, four of which have structures to receive tourists: Serra do Quinto, Buriti Grande dos Aquiles, Torre 1 and Torre 2. Roça Museum
Private museum located about 10 kilometers from the municipality’s headquarters. Ecotourism and sports
Pedro II has several trails and local roads that are used for sports such as rallies, endurance races and racing competitions amidst the cerrado, caatinga and Atlantic forest vegetation. There are also several waterfalls that, in addition to bathing, are used for practices such as rappelling. Among them, the Salto Liso Waterfall stands out, 26 meters high and with cold water – visitable from February to July; and Cachoeira do Urubu Rei, with difficult access and a 76-meter waterfall.
